My drawing hobby continues 🙂 I’m finding it very relaxing to wind up a work day with a short tutorial by Paul Priestly, but I was getting a little frustrated because my drawings really lacked the look I was trying to achieve.
As I wrote last month, I’m no expert and don’t plan to be. But the lessons on shadows and shading just weren’t working with my regular pencil. Finally I took the plunge and got a very cute pencil set. I love how it rolls into a tiny carry pack. I also invested in graphite sticks. Those still baffle me a bit. I’m not sure which one to use when, but I’m muddling through.
So far I’m pleased with the results. Here are some of my drawings with a basic pencil (left) compared to proper pencils (right):

I think the pencils add a bit of dimension. My favorite work so far is an image I created last night using graphite for the first time:

This is what my set looks like unfurled:

It’s all well and good, but you know what my absolute favorite part of the kit is? …
The Eraser!!!

I use it quite a lot. Haha.

It’s marvelous that you have launched yourself into the drawing world. The boat is fantastic.
Thanks. I think my heart was in it a bit. I love being on boats 🙂
Ah! There was love in that drawing!
Wow, love the drawing!
Thank you 🙂
Great boat! And great eraser, too! LOL, I’m laughing, because I too used to draw all the time with pencils, and loved my eraser! Enjoy your art!!
