Art comes in all forms. This I knew, but living with an artist and meeting lots of other people in the art world shows me just how true this statement is. My friend, Jean, is an artist. Her latest project is creating tiny books.

After a day hiking on our mountain together, she gifted Chris and me each with one, and it’s one of my greatest treasures of the year. I can’t imagine how long it takes to make them. The attention to detail, the fine motor skills, the patience — all impressive qualities.
The dedication page makes it extra special:

Jean deliberately left the covers blank and encouraged us to decorate them however we wanted.
That took a lot of thought for me — especially since I’m not fantastic in the art arena myself. After thinking about all the things I appreciate most in life I settled on something. I really love nature and also love playing with words. So I found a leaf and put some shoe-polish on it then pressed it around my book.
So now I have a leaflet š
I know, I know. leaflets are generally single pages, but after some digging I realize it works. This is the course that proves it.
Leaflet: aĀ pieceĀ ofĀ foldedĀ paperĀ or aĀ smallĀ bookĀ thatĀ containsĀ information:

What do you think? How would you design your book cover?

I love this! Leaflet is perfect! Now, is it a blank leaflet that you write in or is there something inside?
Great question. Iām thinking of drawing impressions and maybe writing words of impressions. Seems appropriate.

I would decorate a cover with maps or atlas.
That would be so perfect for you.
I liked your leaflet. Very original.
